Written in 1911 by Friedrich Hansen, during the pioneering era of aviation, the book provides a detailed contemporary engineering overview of early 20th century combustion engines used in aviation, particularly of the french based Gnome rotary engine. This copy with paper covers although well used, is in good condition. This is an ex-library copy, so there are stamps and labels. There are a few pieces missing along the top edge of the front cover, with tape tape down the length of the spine, small label and numbers to the base. Stamps and labels to the front endpapers and prelims and very occasionally throughout. Label and ink stamp to the rear. The pages, however are generally clean, illustrated with photographic images and line drawings. German text. pp. 30+ 4. A scarce title and part of a huge aviation collection just acquired by St Marys Books
