Issued mid-way through World War II, this publication codified the formal British doctrine on how independent air power should be systematically weaponised to win global conflicts. It shifted the military instrument from local tactical assistance to a dominant, war winning strategic force. It established that air power is an independent, strategic arm of national security rather than a mere subordinate to the Army or Royal Navy. This copy published in August 1943 has been bound in a blue and cream folder and fastened with string and metal clasps. A fascinating copy in good condition despite the first two pages being loose. The rest of the pages are lightly toned with one or two pages displaying a few closed tears along their fore-edge. The binding is a little creased and discoloured although it still presents well. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
