Treasure Island is a classic chidlren's adventure written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The narrative centers around a young boy names Jim Hawkins who goes on a perilous high-seas voyage looking for buried treasure hidden by the pirate Captain Flint. This copy published in 1896 is beautifully bound in turquoise cloth with a pictorial to the front and spine. Beautifully illustrated with a double page frontispiece, complete with a tissue guard and several illustrations throughout with a publisher's list to the rear. The book is in overall good condition despite a little discolouration and fading to the boards. There is a small piece of cloth missing from the top of the outer hinge. The decorated endpapers display a book-plate to the front pastedown. The text block remains fairly tight, with only slight cracking to the internal hinges. The pages show foxing throughout, particularly to the prelims, however, they remain generally clean. pp. 292 + 20. Overall a lovely copy of this much loved classic.
