The narrative of this book meticulously chronicles No. 3 Squadron ( originally designated No.69 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps ) from its 1916 formation at Point Cook, Victoria, through training in England, to its deployments in France and Belgium. Operating Royal Aircraft Factory R.E. 8 biplanes. Written by Wing Commander H.N. Wrigley, who flew with and commanded No. 3 Squadron during the war. This first edition copy, published in 1935 is bound in pale blue cloth with dark blue printed titles to the front and spine. The binding is in good condition displaying only a little wear and fading. Light lean to the spine. A small part of the original dust jacket lies loosely within the book. There is a small neat white label to the front free endpaper covering a previous owner's signature. The rest of the pages are remarkably clean and illustrated with several folding maps and black and white photographs. pp. 194.
