Written by legendary Austrian-British pioneer Robert Kronfeld and published in 1932 by John Hamilton. Originally published in German, it was later translated into English by J. Manchot. It documents Robert Kronfeld's technical breakthrough of utilising thermal currents and cold fronts for cross-country motorless flights. It features a prominent preface by Colonel The Master of Sempill, a major figure in early British aviation. Our copy, with English text has an inscription from the author to the half title page. Bound in full black cloth the book displays a little discolouration to the front board. There is a little shelf wear to the top and base of the spine as well as a little fading. Internally the text block is tight and the pages are clean with minor foxing to the prelims and an occasional thumb print. Illustrated with several diagrams and historic photographs. pp xv + 379. A scarce title especially with a signature. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
