Souvenir of Constantinople R.A.F. 1922-23 is an exceedingly rare, first and only edition, commemorative book published circa 1924 to celebrate the British Royal Air Force's strategic deployment during the Chanak crisis. Printed by W. H. Barrell in Portsmouth for the RAF Constantinople Wing, this volume is an historical record of a short-lived but highly critical geopolitical flashpoint. Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth with titles and Royal Air Force insignia to the top left hand corner. This copy is in fair condition, as the binding has faded to the extremities and rear board, and all pages are loose. There are 63 printed pages, with the exception of a few thumbprints and the occasional spot of foxing, they are clean. It is illustrated with several rare photographs of the base, its surrounding environments, and the deployed biplanes. Despite the condition, this is still a rare copy and a must for any aviation enthusiast.
