How Men Fly is a landmark 1911 aviation book written by the British aeronautical pioneer Gertrude Bacon. Published by Cassell in London just eight years after the Wright brothers' first powered flight. Bacon used simple everyday language to explain how heavy aircraft machinery achieved lift, making the world of aviation understandable to ordinary readers and interested youth. This copy has pictorial thick card covers and is illustrated with several photographs. The binding is a little creased to the spine although still presents well. There is a signature dated 1911 to the front free endpaper and the occasional spot of foxing. Overall, a good copy of a scarce title. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
