Annuaire International de l'aeronautique written exclusively in French, this volume is an early encyclopedia of early aviation and aerial locomotion. Founded by Paul Sencier and Ch-A Bertrand, the book is a comprehensive professional directory divided into four primary parts. Part one, a general history of aeronautics, part two, directory of early aero clubs, part three, technical encyclopedia, part four, industrial directory. Edited by French author Ivan Hitzemann, this copy has a large inscription from him to the half title page, dated 1912. The book is bound in brown cloth with titles in gilt to the front and spine and features several historic photographs within. Adverts of the time add a touch of nostalgia to the prelims as well as to the rear of the book. The book although a little worn and creased is in remarkable condition despite its age and usage. The pages are lightly toned with an ink stamp to the base of the title page with slight staining to the endpapers. The hinges are cracked although the text block remains quite firm. Overall a good copy of a very scarce title and unique with the editor's inscription. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
