Trunk Air Routes of Europe is a highly collectible, historical aviation map and schedule series produced by the Shell Aviation Department during the interwar aviation boom of the 1930's. As commercial flight expanded globally, Royal Dutch, Shell's newly formed aviation division published these comprehensive, folding cartographic guides to serve pioneering pilots and the earliest commercial airline operators. This copy published in April 1938 feature a brown paper cover, secured by a metal and string binding. There are 47 printed pages with five extra memoranda pages to the rear. The shell logo appears on the title page and the book is illustrated throughout with many maps. The book is overall, in good condition given its age and use. There is some wear to the cover extremities, with foxing to the front and rear covers. Foxing also appears to the title and prelims, as well as towards the rear, the rest of the pages are very clean. Overall a fascinating and scarce title and a must for any aviation enthusiast.
