Sea-Flyers written by the influential British aviation journalist Charles Grey Grey, editor of the famous Jane's All The World's Aircraft. The book documents the early development and operational history of sea flying, focusing heavily on the evolution of seaplanes, floatplanes, and flying boats. Published in the midst of World War II, the book provided contemporary readers with a deep dive into how critical maritime air power had become to British and global security. This copy, published in 1942, was aviation historian and author Owen Thetford's personal copy. Not only does it have his book plate to the front free endpaper but also his signature. The book is complete with its unclipped dust jacket which is in good condition, despite a little fading to the spine. There are several pen notations throughout the book, and a newspaper clipping of an advertisement for the book is attached to the front pastedown. The pages are slightly toned although clean and illutrated with several historic photographs. pp. 256. Overall a very good copy of this historical book. A must for any aviation enthusiast.
