Out On The Pampas or The Young Settlers is an adventure novel written by G.A. Henty. It marks a monumental milestone as this was Henty's first children's novel which successfully launched his legendary career. This copy, has no date although possibly circa 1880's. It is bound in rich green cloth with tiltes and pictorials on the front and spine with a vignette on the rear. The text is enhanced by the line drawings of J.B. Zwecker, inlcuding a frontispiece and vignettes to the start and ending of each chapter. Publisher's list to the rear. Overall a good copy despite slight surface wear to the front board and shelf wear to the spine. There is a neat, previous owner's inscription dated 1886 to the front pastedown. The rest of the pages are clean despite the occasional spot of foxing. pp. 374 + 32. A handsome copy and a must for any G.A. Henty enthusiast.
