Ungava A Tale of Esquimaux Land is a classic 19th century adventure novel written by R.M. Ballantyne. The story was inspired by the author's real life experience's working for the Hudson Bay Company in Canada. This copy, part of The Boy's Own Library Series, is undated, possibly circa 1880's. Handsomely bound in brown cloth with a pictorial to the front and spine and embossed decoration to the rear. The book is beautifully illustrated by the author with a double page frontispiece and full page line drawings throughout. Complete with decorative endpapes and a publisher's list to the rear. Overall, a good copy, displaying just a little darkening as well as a light lean to the spine, minor bumping and discolouration. There is a neat inscription, dated 1886 to the front endpaper together with heavy foxing to the verso and towards the rear. The rest of the pages are lightly toned with the very occasional spot of foxing, otherwise clean. pp. viii + 509 + 3. A beautiful addition to any private library.
