Harry Harper was a pioneering British journalist and author celebrated as the world's first air Correspondent. In 1945, the London Aircraft Production Group led by London Transport commissioned Harry Harper to document their wartime effort of building 710 Handley Page Halifax Bombers. The final aircraft off the assembly line at Leavesden Aerodrome on April 16, 1945, was named London Pride. This is the original unpublished manuscript, typewritten and held together with a blue and white ribbon. The paper covers have discoloured over time with the front cover detached, the spine has pieces missing to the lower half. The pages remain clean and in remarkable condition. A unique and rare item of historical interest, with only one other copy held within the Transport for London Corporate Archives.
