The Eagle Aloft. Two Centuries of the Balloon in America written by Tom D. Crouch is a comprehensive chronological history of lighter-than-air flight in the United States. It covers the era from early 1780's experiments through to 20th century sporting and modern high altitude scientific flights. This copy, published in 1983, is in very good condition. The dust jacket, featuring a pictorial front cover is clean and displays very little wear. While internally, the pages are free of any marks or inscriptions with the text enhanced by several illustrations. pp. 770. A must for any aviation enthusiast and part of a huge aviation collection acquired by St Marys Books.
