St Mary's Books is incredibly proud to present this 1931 thirty-eighth edition of "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame, the first edition to feature Ernest H. Shepherd's whimsical illustrations. Bound in vibrant green cloth with green top edge staining, gold gilt lettering to the spine, and charming gold gilt illustrations of Mr Toad, Mole, and Ratty on the cover, this hardback book contains 312 pages of text and 8 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. Within the pages of this book, the reader steps into the wild world of the Wind in the Willows just as the weather begins to warm and spring arrives. We follow a good-natured Mole who loses patience with his spring cleaning, and soon embarks on a journey around his surrounding areas, meeting it's enchanting inhabitants. This copy is in near fine condition, it has been remarkably well-preserved - the cloth binding appears clear and bright and the internal pages are unblemished and well-preserved. Other than a slight lean to the spine, some minor bumping to the corners, and an inscription on one of the prelims pages, this copy remains in very good condition. "The Wind in the Willows" is looking for a new home where it will be similarly enjoyed and appreciated.
