The Master Of Ballantrae by Robert Louis Stevenson is a dark historical novel about a destructive sibling rivalry and moral corruption during and after the 1745 Jacobite Rising in Scotland. This copy, published in 1918, has been handsomely bound in black leather and featuring embossed details and gilt titles to the front. There is ornate gilt decoration and titles to a slightly faded spine. The binding otherwise, is in very good condition displaying just a little off-setting to the rear. The pages are free of any foxing, or inscriptions and illustrated with a frontispiece. pp. viii + 374. A lovely book and a great addition to any private library.
