The Eighth Sea

Frank T. Courtney

Edition: First Edition

Published By: Doubleday & Company, Inc

Publication Year: 1972

The Eighth Sea is the autobiography of Frank T. Courtney, a pioneering London born aviator whose extraordinary career in flight spanned more than 50 years. The title refers to Courtney's central philosophy, while everyone is familiar with the traditional seven seas, the air itself consitutes a limitless Eighth Sea. Published in 1972, this copy is complete with its original unclipped dust jacket. The jacket displays minor discolouration, a closed tear along the top edge of the spine, and a library label to the base. The front free endpaper displays surface abrasion, where two labels have been removed, while the verso of the title page and rear endpapers display ink stamps. The rest of the pages are very clean. pp. xii + 297. Overall a fascinating read and a must for any aviation enthusiast.
