Like many other books in this series, it is bound in a rich maroon leather and the title is embossed in gilt lettering on the upper-left corner of the front cover. The spine is decorated with a wonderful gilt illustration of botanical imagery, the title of the book is also embossed in gilt lettering on the upper end of the spine. A black-and-white plate of Aristides and Themistocles is displayed opposite the title page. The pages are in very good condition with only some age-related foxing towards a few of the edges, the colour on the spine is slightly worn and there is some rubbing to the ends of the spine and top corners of the covers.
