Complete set in five volumes. Uniformly bound in full tan leather with a double gilt lined border to both boards. Five raised bands to the spine, gilt titling against a black backdrop to the second and fourth band, tooled decoration to the other bands. All volumes show wear and rubbing to extremities of boards, to be expected given their age, as well as fraying and rubbing to the spine. The volumes uniformly show a split along the side of the spine although only the upper board of Volume I is slightly loose. With a frontispiece portrait of the author and the Editor's preface to Volume I. Illustrated with wood engravings. Contents clean and bright.
