First edition hardback bound in full polished calf with gilt double border to boards. Five raised bands to spine with ornate gilt decoration, red gilt title band. All edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Neat ink inscription to front blank dated 1875. Binding is a little rubbed with some scuff marks to boards, in particular a scuffed patch to lower right of front board. Corners a little bumped. Prelims and rear blanks somewhat foxed, pages otherwise clean if occasionally spotted. Overall very good condition. 384 pp. Smart book in a fine binding.
