First Edition Hardback. The beautifully illustrated dust jacket is in a good clean condition and shows very little wear. The rich navy cloth boards are in excellent condition. There are a few minor closed tears to the margins of the text towards the rear. The pages however are clean throughout, illustrated with several colour photographic plates. pp. xxxix + 520. Overall a good copy. Joseph Banks was the botanist on board James Cooks Endeavour and collected plants on a vast scale.
