This lovely 1961 first edition of "George Orwell: Fugitive from the Camp of Victory" by Richard Rees is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Beneath the charming butter yellow dustjacket with maroon ink lettering, this hardback book is bound in a lovely pale green cloth, and features gilt lettering and decorations to its spine. Inside, one finds 160 pages of text, including indicies. This lovely book, intended as an introduction to Orwell, is a study of all of his works, and aims to highlight some of his earlier, lesser known texts as well as throw new light on his most famous ones, "Animal Farm" and "1984". This book is in good condition - the dustjacket has held up remarkably well, with only some minor staining, bumping, and tears and there is some slight fading to the cloth boards, however the inside remains remarkably clean and readable. This copy is looking for a new home, and would be the perfect gift for any collectors or Orwell enthusiasts.
