This lovely 1985 first American edition of "Orwell's London" by John Thompson is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Behind the charming grey dustjacket which features a black and white photograph of Orwell, this hardback book has been bound in charcoal cloth, and features silver gilt lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds 120 pages of text (including indicies) describing Orwell's, and his characters' lives in London and tracing the similarities. Thompson's lovely work is peppered with Philippa Scoones' black and white photographs, which help to ground the reader. This book is in very good condition - the dustjacket and the book itself are remarkably clean, with no notable blemishes or imperfections. This lovely work is looking for a new home and would be the perfect gift for any Orwell enthusiast.
