Edition: First
Published By: Hollis and Carter
This lovely 1956 first edition of "A Study of George Orwell: The Man and his Works" by Christopher Hollis is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Behind the charming blue and yellow dustjacket, this hardback book is bound in a lovely blue cloth, and features gold gilt lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds 212 pages of text, including indicies, of a study of Orwell himself via his books by Christopher Hollis, a man who knew Orwell personally at Eton and in Burma. This lovely book is in good condition - though the dustjacket is slightly bumped and torn, and the cover is slightly faded, the book itself is remarkably clean and unblemished despite its age. This edition is looking for a new home, and would be a perfect gift for any Orwell enthusiast.
