Edition: Second Impression
Published By: Longmans, Green and Co
This lovely 1956 second impression of "George Orwell" by Laurence Brander is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Behind the charming lime green dustjacket, this hardback book is bound in a lovely green cloth, featuring gold gilt lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds 212 pages of text (including indicies) of a study of Orwell's views and writings, ultimately describing him as "a political man writing in a political age" from an author who collaborated with Orwell in the production of literary broadcasts to India. This remarkable book is in good condition - though there is some bumping and tearing to the dustjacket, and some fading to the cover, this is more than fair for a book of this age. This book is looking for a new home, and would make for a lovely gift for any Orwell enthusiast.
