This lovely 1961 first edition of "My Twenty Years of Racing", the autobiography of the five times world champion Juan Manuel Fangio, is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Beneath the pictorial dustjacket, a beautiful full colour painting of Fangio in the drivers seat, this hardback book is bound in a rich blue cloth and features gold gilt lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds 224 pages of text (including indicies) detailing "the hidden face of success", the "doubts, secret anguish, hesitations and discouragements, self-denials and privations, many small human miseries" behind Juan Manuel Fangio's career, peppered with black and white photographs. This book is in good condition - though the corners of the dustjacket are bumped and thus it can only be described as fair, and the pages of the book are yellowed - the copy remains clean and readable, with few other notable blemishes. This book is looking for a new home, and would be the perfect gift for any motor racing enthusiast.
