This lovely 1943 first edition of "Biggles "Fails to Return"" by Captain W. E. Johns is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Beneath the vibrant dustjacket featuring Biggles brandishing a weapon, this hardback book is bound in light blue cloth with black ink lettering to the cover and spine. Inside, beyond the black ink maps illustrated on the free endpapers, this book has a charming full-colour frontispiecewhcih depicts Bertie wondering whether he was about to be trapped. This book has 224 pages of text and is peppered with lovely black ink illustrations. This copy is in good condition - though there is some tearing and bumping to the dustjacket and some fading to the covers, apart from a small inscription, the interior of the book appears remarkably clean and well preserved. This book is looking for a new home, and would be a perfect gift for any Biggles enthusiasts.
