This lovely 1955 reprint of "Flight to Arras" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery (translated from the French by Lewis Galantiere) with illustrations by Laurence Irving, is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. The beautiful dustjacket features a plane, ilustrated in blue ink, flying through a background of yellow-ink illustrated maps. Underneath, this hardback book is bound in a lovely blue cloth, featuring gold gilt lettering and decorations to the cover and spine with blue top edge staining. Inside, beyond the lovely illustrated maps on the free endpapers, one finds 164 pages of text supplemented by the 23 scraper board engravings by Laurence Irving. This book is in good condition - though the dustjacket is slightly bumped and there are some white marks to the boards - the interior of the book is remarkably clean, and has no notable imperfections. This book is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiasts.
