Sagittarius Rising

Cecil Lewis

Edition: Second Impression

Published By: Peter Davies

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1936 second impression of Cecil Lewis' "Sagittarius Rising", housed in its original blue and white dustjacket featuring an illustration of a plane and "the archer". Bound in cream cloth with blue ink lettering to the spine, this hardback book has 331 pages of text, detailing Lewis' adventures and experiences as a pilot in the Great War. This copy is complete with a printed letter from Cecil Lewis, as well as a newspaper clipping, containing a black and white photograph of Lewis standing next to his plane. This edition is in very good condition - though the dustjacket is torn and bumped and thus can only be described as "fair to good", the book itself remains clean and readable, remarkable considering the age and rarity of this copy. This is a stunning edition of one of the most famous works of literature to arise from the Great War, and it is now looking for a new home.
