This stunning author's copyright edition of Jules Verne's "Five Weeks in a Balloon: A Voyage of Exploration and Discovery in Central Africa" is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Bound in grey cloth featuring colourful illustration of a palace on the cover and a balloon on the spine, this hardback book contains i-vi, 300pp.and 16 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. Inside, one finds a stunning full-colour frontispiece, "An Unexpected Companion" depicting the expedition's balloon being followed, as well as some full colour illustrations throughout the book. This book is in good condition, though the frontispiece page is coming loose and there is some very minor foxing throughout - the book remains otherwise clean and readable, and the illustrations remain bright and vibrant. This story of adventure and exploration is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any Jules Verne enthusiast.
