Bound in blue cloth, this hardback book has all-edge gilt and gilt lettering to the cover and spine, as well as a gorgeous pictoral board depicting the airship flying among mountains. Inside, one finds i-viii, 192pp., and 32 pages of advertisements to the rear. This illustrated edition contains 41 black ink drawings, and a frontispiece which is sadly missing in this copy, all supplementing the tale of the inventor, Robur, and his adventures in the airship, Albatross. This tale of action and adventure is in good condition - though the prelims are missing, there is some splitting at the hinges, and the cover is slightly bumped and worn - the copy remains otherwise clean and readable, remarkably so for its age. "The Clipper of the Clouds" is looking for a new home, and would be a perfect gift for any Jules Verne enthusiasts.
