Bound in dark blue cloth with gilt lettering to the cover and spine, this hardback book features black, brown, and white ink illustrated boards, depicting the crew looking out of the window. Inside, past the dark green free endpapers, one finds i-vii, 279pp. and 12 pages of advertisements to the rear. This lovely edition features stunning illustrations by Henry Austin, including the frontispiece, "the dischrage was accompanied by a vertiable earthquake" in black ink. These two tales of adventure and heroism are in good condition - though the covers are slightly bumped, and there is some foxing throughout the book, the edition remains largely clean and readable. This book is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any Jules Verne enthusiast.
