St Mary's Books is proud to present this stunning 1908 first edition of "The War in the Air and particularly how Mr Bert Smallways fared while it lasted" by H. G. Wells. Bound in bright blue cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this hardback book features a beautiful illustration by A. C. Michael to the cover, depicting an air war occuring above a battle at sea. Inside, one finds i-vii, 389pp. and 2 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. This prophetic tale depicting the dawn of aerial warfare and its devastating impact is peppered with black and white full-page illustrations by A. C. Michael. This beautifully presented book is in good condition, though there are some minor stains to the cover, the spine is slightly faded, and there is some slight foxing throughout the copy, this book remains otherwise clean and readable - remarkably so given its age and rarity. "The War in the Air" is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation or H. G. Wells enthusiast.
