This lovely first edition of "The Loss of R.101. A Poem", or "A Poem to the Airmen of all Nations" by "Anon" is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Bound in navy leather with gold gilt lettering to the cover, this hardback book has beautiful tie-dye reminiscent endpapers and 16 pages of text containing this classic poem lamenting the failure and destruction of the worlds largest airship, R.101. This work is supplemented by the black and white image of R.101, from a painting by Chas.Dixon, depicting the aircraft hovering above the sea. This lovely little book is in good condition, though the covers are slightly bumped and there is an inscription on the title page, this copy remains otherwise clean and readable. "The Loss of R.1010. A Poem." is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any ballooning enthusiast.
