Bound in red cloth with gold gilt lettering and a stunning black ink illustration of men operating a hot air balloon, this hardback book contains i-xxix and 398pp.. This edition is complete with a stunning full colour illustration of a balloon on the frontispiece, and several charming black ink illustrations throughout the work. This book is in fair to good condition - the boards are bumped, worn and stained and the hinges are splitting - however the text and illustrations remain remarkably clean, readable, and vibrant. "Travels in the Air" is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any 19th century ballooning enthusiast.
