St Mary's Books is proud to present this stunning November 1928 Second Printing of "20 Hrs. 40 Min. Our Flight in the Friendship. The American Girl, First Across the Atlantic by Air, Tells her Story" by Amelia Earhart. Housed in its original yellow dustcjaket, featuring blue ink text and a lovely black ink illustration of Earhart and a plane, this hardback book is bound in burgundy buckram with gold gilt lettering. Inside, past the charming free endpapers which contain photographs of Earhart's writing, one finds 314 pages of text, complete with stunning black and white photographs, including the frontispiece image of the crew of the "Friendship". This amazing story, comprised mostly from the log-book in which Earhart wrote in throughout the journey, is a tale not just of the flight itself, but an appraisal of the future of aviation, especially of the future of women in the air. This book is in very good condition. Though the pre-war dustjacket has some losses, other than some minor damp stains and foxing to the edges, this copy remains otherwise clean and readable - remarkably so considering its age and rarity. "20 Hrs. 40 Min." is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation or Earhart enthusiast.
