St Mary's Books is proud to present, "America to Ireland in Sixteen Hours. Unveiling of a Statue to Mr F. Henry Royce, a living engineer", a programme for the 27th June 1923 statue unveiling in Derby, containing speeches by various notable contemporary figures, such as: The Right Hon. the Earl of Birkenhead, the Under-Secretary for Air (The Duke of Sutherland), The Right Hon. The Lord Wargrave, The Right Hon. J. H. Thomas, M. P., and the Mayor of Derby. This small softcover book has 80 pages of text, and contains details about the statue, a reproduction of the event's invitation, speeches by the notable figures, numerous black and white photographs from the event, a list of guests, and a Rolls-Royce advertisement. This lovely slice of history is in good condition, though the cover is slightly bumped, and there is some splitting at the hinges, the text remains clean and readable - remarkable considering the age and rarity of this programme. "America to Ireland in Sixteen Hours" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation or Rolls-Royce enthusiast.
