St Mary's Books is proud to present this lovely 1934 first edition of "Solo Flight" by Jean Batten. Housed in its original blue dustjacket featuring charming cartoonish illustrations, and a stunning black and white photograph of Batten, this hardback book is bound in a lovely light blue cloth. Inside, past the map highlighting Batten's route on the free endpapers, one finds 215 pages of text and 39 pages to the back of the book containing a facsimilie of Batten's flight log, some notes of congratulation, and comments on flight. This stunning book is complete with black and white photographs, including numerous images of Batten's plane. This amazing book details Batten's successive attempts and experience flying from England to Australia in record-breaking time. This copy is in very good condition - though there is some damage to the dustjacket which can only be described as good, the book, other than some fading to the spine, is remarkably well-preserved given its age and rarity. "Solo Flight" by Jean Batten is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiasts.
