This lovely 1937 first edition of "Caesar of the Skies: The Official Life of Sir Charles Kingford-Smith" by Flying Officer and Personal Assistant Beau Shiel in collaboration with Colin Simpson, is now in the possession of St Mary's Books. Housed in its original blue paper dustjacket featuring a black and white photograph of "Smithy" to the centre, this hardback book is bound in light blue cloth with dark blue ink lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds i-x, 202pp., and 16 pages of black and white photographs to the back of the book. This book which highlights the exciting adventures and remarkable career of the man Flying Officer Beau Sheil hails as "Caesar of the Skies", is in very good condition. Though the dustjacket is bumped and torn and thus can only be described as good, the book itself is remarkably clean and readable for a copy of this age and rarity. "Caesar of the Skies" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
