Edition: First Edition
Published By: Hutchinson & Co. Ltd.
This lovely 1956 first edition of "He. 1000", an autobiography by Ernst Heinkel is signed by the author. Housed in its original bright blue pictoral dustjacket featuring a dramatic illustration of a dive-bombing place, this hardback book is bound in crimson cloth with gold gilt lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds 287 pages of text, supplemented by black and white photographs such as the frontispiece image of Heinkel. This fascinating autobiography detailing the story of a tinkers son "who just had to build aeroplanes", is in very good condition. Though the dustjacket is torn and bumped and thus can only be described as good, the book itself is remarkably well preserved, with few notable blemishes or imperfections. "He. 1000" is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast, military historian, or autobiography lover.
