Edition: First Edition
Published By: Jonathan Cape
This lovely 1939 first edition of "A Flying Start: A Memory of the Nineteen Twenties" by Rene MacColl is housed in its original grey, blue, and black striped dustjacket. Bound in vibrant green cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, this hardback book has 304 pages of text, and contains Mr MacColls reflections on his varied life experiences, from Fleet Street, to his work as a special correspondent in India, to his time as Van-Lear Black's secretary and travelling companion on his long flights. This copy is in very good condition - though the dustjacket is slightly torn and bumped and thus can only be described as good, the book itself remains clean, readable, and remarkably well preserved given its age and rarity. "A Flying Start" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation or autobiography enthusiast.
