Airman Friday (Signed)

William Courtenay

Edition: Fourth Impression

Published By: Hutchinson & Co.

This lovely fourth impression of "Airman Friday" by William Courtenay is signed by the author in Paris, 1938. Housed in its original blue dustjacket featuring blue ink lettering and decorations, this hardback book is bound in dark green buckram with gold gilt lettering to the cover and spine. Inside, one finds 416 pages of text and 16 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. Peppered with an abundance of black and white photographs, such as the frontispiece, "Now for the Atlantic!", and introduced by a host of notable contemporary figures, this book ffers the first authoritative account of the long-distance flights of famous aviators "from the inside", due to William Courtenay's close and long-lasting friendship with famous aviators such as Amy Johnson and Jim Mollison. This book is in good condition - the dustjacket has been remarkably well preserved, and other than some very minor bumps, it can be described as very good. The book itself, however, has some splitting at the hinges, but is in otherwise good condition. "Airman Friday" is looking for a new home, and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast.
