Housed in its original pictoral dustjacket, featuring a stunning painting by Stanley Bradshaw of "The Red Knight" in flight, this hardback book is bound in crimson cloth with gold gilt lettering to the spine, and red top edge staining. Inside, one finds i-vii and 285 pages of text, peppered with contemporary black and white photographs, such as the frontispiece illustration of Richthofen. This book, and its dustjacket, have been remarkably well preserved, with few notable blemishes other than some minor tearing to the dustjacket, some offsetting to the back free endpapers, and fading to the cloth boards. On the front free endpapers, one finds a paste-down advertising the British Hospitals Air Pageant, across from an inscription detailing the winners of the Macrobertson Trophy Air Race - an exciting slice of history which only adds to the value of this copy. "Richthofen The Red Knight of the Air" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast or historian.
