Aces and Kings

L. W. Sutherland

Edition: First UK Edition

Published By: John Hamilton

St Mary's Books is proud to present this remarkably well preserved first UK edition of "Aces and Kings" by L. W. Sutherland, the story of the Australian "Warbirds" during the Great War. Housed in its original pictoral dustjacket featuring a stunning full colour illustration of places in battle over mountains, this hardback book is bound in blue cloth with gold gilt lettering to its spine. Inside, one finds i-xii and 276 pages of text complete with stunning contemporary black and white photographs such as the frontispiece image of the No.1 Squadron Australian Flying Corps. This book, which traces the author's experiences as a pilot in the Australian 67 Squadron R. F. C. in Palestine, contains incredible stories such as his encounters with Laurence of Arabia. This book is in very good condition, though there is a bookplate on the free endpapers and some minor tearing to the dustjacket - remarkably, this edition appears otherwise unread. "Aces and Kings" is looking for a new home, and would make for the perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast or military historian.
