Text in French. A riveting account of 45 journeys through the air, from 1868 to 1888, generally by hot air balloon. This edition is completely revised and expanded with several new chapters. Bound in bright red cloth with beautiful gilt lettering and design on the front cover, as well as a textblock with all edges gilt, which remains bright. It is richly illustrated throughout in black and white, with diagrams, drawings, graphs and maps to support the informative writing. This copy is in very good condition. There is some wear to the extremities, and some dulling to the gilt on the front cover, but the design remains sharp and clear. The pages throughout are for the most part bright annd clean, with some foxing to only a few. pp. 308.
