Edition: First Edition
Published By: Michael Joseph Ltd.
This lovely 1936 first edition of "Growing Wings" by Filson Young is housed in its original white dustjacket, featuring a photograph of Young's Pilot's Liscence. Bound in burnt orange cloth with yellow lettering to the spine and yellow top-edge staining, this hardback book contains 180 pages of text. Inside, past the bright yellow free endpapers, one finds the inspiring story of a 58 year old who chose to learn to fly, an intruiging chapter of a life full of adventure. This book, and its original dustjacket, are in good condition. The dustjacket is slightly bumped and torn and the book itself is foxed, however it remains well-reserved considering its age and rarity. "Growing Wings" is looking for a new home and would make for a perfect gift for any aviation enthusiast, or any lover of an inspiring true story.
