On the Run: Escaping Tales

Edition: First Edition

Published By: Rich & Cowan Ltd.

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1934 first edition of "On the Run: Escaping Tales" edited by H. C. Armstrong. Housed in its original white dustjacket featuring a full colour illustration of a prisoner of war escaping under barbed wire, this hardback book is bound in black cloth with pink lettering to the spine. Inside, one finds i-xxi, 331pp. and 32 pages of advertisements to the back of the book. This book contains a selection of true stories, predominantly of adventure and escape tales from prisoners of war throughout the Great War. These stories are supplemented by black and white photographs and black ink diagrams. This book, and its original dustjacket, are in good to very good condition - though the dustjacket is slightly torn and the book is slightly foxed, this copy remains remarkably well preserved. "On the Run" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any lover of a true story, or any historian with an interest of prisoners of war and their escape stories.
