The Aero Club of America

Edition: First Edition

Published By: Doubleday, Page & Company

St Mary's Books is proud to present this 1907 first edition of "Navigating the Air: A scientific statement of the progress of aeronautical science up to the present time" by the Aero Club of America. Bound in mustard yellow cloth with a checkered rope design, evoking the sense that the book itself is the basket of a balloon, this hardback book also features white ink lettering and a black and white photograph of a dirigeable on its cover. Inside, one finds i-xli and 259 pages of text supplemented by contemporary black and white photographs and black ink diagrams, serving to highlight all of the various achievements in aviation at the time of writing. This book is in very good condition, with few notable imperfections other than the inscription on the front free endpaper and that the boards are slightly worn and bumped. This copy has been incredibly well preserved to say that it is over 100 years old, and the pages remain clean, bright, and readable. "Navigating the Air" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any early aviation enthusiast.
