This lovely circa 1914 edition of "The Aeroplane" by Grahame White and Harry Harper forms part of their Romance of Reality series. Bound in brown cloth with a black and white photograph of an early aeroplane on the cover, this hardback book contains i-xi and 280 pages of text peppered with contemporary black and white photographs and black ink illustrations. The frontispiece, a stunning full-colour full-page illustration of "The Air Liner of the Future" perfectly sets the scene for this edition which hopes to chronicle existing aerial achievements and provide predictions for the future of aviation. This book is in good condition, though there is a torn-off ex-libris bookplate, some offsetting, and an inscription on the front free endpapers, and though there is some foxing to the prelims, the rest of the book remains bright, clean, and readable. "The Aeroplane" is looking for a new home and would make for the perfect gift for any early aviation enthusiast.
