A first edition copy of a wonderful book that follows the air transport memories of the euthor, between 1919 to 1924. In his writing, Instones aims to get across the optimism, faith and resource of the personalities connected with the civil aviation from 1919, not simply an academic history of the mode of transport. It is richly illustrated throuhout with numerous black and white photographs of aircraft and other relevent locations, scenery and people. This copy is bound in deep blue cloth, with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front covers. Overall, the book is in good condition. There is some foxing to the textblock and the early pages.There is only some slight wear to the top and bottom of the spine. The dust jacket is also in good condition. There are open tears to the bottom and top of the edge of the spine, and a couple of closed tears elsewhere. pp. 198.
